What is a green card?
A green card is an identity card that confirms the status of a permanent resident of the United States. This is an analogue of our residence permit and an intermediate stage in obtaining American citizenship.
The rights of the green card holder. The document gives the right to live permanently in the country, freely enter and leave it, officially work or open your own business, get an education, use insurance and social security, apply for family reunification. After 5 years of residence in the country after receiving a green card, its owner can become a US citizen.
